The earthly journey of Ms. Eva Marie
Davis Robinson began May 13, 1959, in Tallahassee, Florida and came to a quiet
closure on Saturday, October 17, 2009. Eva was born to the late Julia Harden
Davis and the late William Eugene Davis. Eva was later reared in Daytona Beach
by the late Henry and Lillian Cook after the passing of her parents. She is
preceded in death by her parents, Julia and William Davis, and Henry and
Lillian Cook; brothers, William Eugene Davis, Johnny Davis, St. Clair Davis,
and Orie Davis; sister, Henrietta Davis Roper; aunts, Atnanda Wilkins and
Dorothy Jackson. Eva attended area Volusia County schools, graduating in 1977
from Spruce Creek High School. She later attended Daytona Beach Community
College, graduating with an Associates Degree in Nursing (LPN) in 1980. She
attended Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church in her youth, singing in the youth
choir. She later fellowshipped with New Heart Christian Center under the
leadership of Bishop George E. Butts. Those to cherish her memories are two
loving children, Shayla (Mitchell McCarthur) and Alvin Robinson, Jr., both of
Daytona Beach, Florida; a loving grandson, Ramon McCollough, Jr.; loving companion,
William "Bill" Black; a sister, Glenda Davis; brother, Henry Davis,
all of Daytona Beach, Florida; aunt, Henrietta Gaines, Tallahassee, Florida;
former husband, Alvin Robinson; mother-in-law, Johnola Robinson, Daytona Beach,
Florida; grandmother-in-law, Drissie Williams, Baxley, Georgia; sisters-in-law,
Seveta (Warren) Lewis, Baxley, Georgia, Zephry (John) Kirk, Camden, New Jersey,
Belinda Robinson and Demetrice Robinson, Daytona Beach, Linda Robinson
(Isadore) West, Gainesville, Florida; brother-in-law, Larry Robinson, Macon,
Georgia; special friends, Patricia Yarbrough, Sophia Tucker, Perita Clark
Ardell Smith and J.D. Kearse; along with a host of aunts, uncles, nieces,
nephews, cousins and friends. Calling hours will be today (Friday, October 23)
from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Herbert Thompson Funeral Home followed by the
funeral service on Saturday, October 24 at 11:00 a.m. at Morning Star Baptist
Church. Herbert Thompson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
