Ok, well to answer your first question "John
who?" I was one of those transplanted Mainland High guys. I
played both years on our inaugural soccer team and generally tried to keep out
of trouble, most of the time.
So, what has been happening? A lot, here are a few highlights.
1.
Moved to
2.
Got involved in computers in
1978, never looked back.
3.
Married
4.
Kids; daughter Jenn in 1980, son Shawn in 1983 and son Patrick in 1986.
5.
Had been busy with various kids sports. Jenn did
softball and soccer, Shawn and Pat both did baseball (did not like it),
basketball and soccer.
6.
I passed on my passion for soccer
to my kids and coached each one for about 8 years. I also played
racquetball for a number of years, until my knee surgery.
7.
Came back to the Lord in
1986. God has a unique way of getting my attention, never looked back.
8.
Started my own software company
in 1988, never looked back. Really, it sounds more impressive then it
is. Don't get the wrong idea. For those who are interested, the web
site is www.rla-assist.com
9.
We currently have 2 horses (Lacy
and Ponee), 2 dogs (Beckham and Donovan) and 1 cat (KiKi). My wife's mare is with foal and should deliver
the May before our reunion.
10.
Daughter Jenn
just got married in September, no grand kids yet.
So that is it in a nut shell. Just a few
observations in reading the other profiles. It has become truly
evident that our class was really something special. We liked each other and we
had a lot of fun, but we were really exceptional. There are more then a
few college grads, long marriages, business owners, gifted artists,
accomplished individuals and many Christians. You are special people and
I am happy that God has blessed so many of you and I look forward to seeing you
all again.
I really appreciate all that the committee is doing on our behalf. Thank
you all and I look forward to seeing you all in 2K7.
Ok, back to the tread mill to lose a few more pounds before July. Right! Like you aren't dieting too.
May
God Bless,
John J. Rennie
