How about a stroll
down memory lane?
I moved to
The following year,
it was off to Mainland and "split sessions". I purchased my first
motorcycle the summer before, so at least no bus riding for me. There was Coach
Kirton with his cattle prod and Coach Pinnell biting his wrestlers. Boy, those were the
days! Then, off we went to the new school, which is why we are here on
this thing called a computer.
I continued on to
DBCC and earned an AS in Electronic Technology while working at a local Tuxedo
Rental store, and believe it or not, it's still in business. The thing I
learned from my education was, you need experience to get a job, and you need a
job to get experience.
In 1980, I started
loading trucks in the early AM at UPS. In 1982, I became a full time driver and
continued on until just last month. Retired is a strange word for a 47 year
old, but I like it! Now, instead of hearing "I wanna
drive the truck" every day, I keep hearing "You don't look old enough
to retire". I'm now looking for a second career and maybe a second pension check so when the time comes, I can REALLY
retire and not work.
I married for the
second time, to my current wife Debbie, in 1999. I think somebody wrote a song
