McCoy Residential Addition Charlie Brucker had moved in with Bill and Pat McCoy but simply needed more room. That's when Bill called TYL Construction. Bill wanted Charlie to have a new sitting and working area, a new bathroom, and then to join these into an existing bedroom in the main house and also into the Florida room as well. The desired location made perfect sense from the "end product point of view", but, in getting to that "end point", much would have to be changed. Starting with two old Florida pine trees that were at least 75 years old, a crane was called in to make the job safe and secure. Also, in this same area, two outside air conditioning condensers, an irrigation pump and associated time clocks and water pipes, telephone junction boxes, cable TV, the waste water plumbing, and the entire electrical service would have to be relocated. This was all accomplished with very limited inconvenience to Bill and Charlie.
The addition was built on a poured footer, stem wall system, concrete masonry block walls, and topped with a custom built shed roof that was covered with a torch down, modified bitumus roof system. Inside walls were furred and drywall finished smooth. The bathroom was tiled and a "handicapped style" shower floor was installed along with a shower seat, grab bars and plenty of space to move around. You see, Charlie is a very young and energetic 80 year old. However, some day he might just need some of those items. The exterior stucco finish was fashioned to match the existing house along with matching paint. In the end, Charlie was one happy guy! And that my friend is what TYL Construction is really all about!
